Zeke Freeman is an architect, developer, and the host of the Radical Hospitality Podcast. Born and raised in East Texas, Zeke built his career at the intersection of design and development — believing from the beginning that the best buildings don't just serve a function, they tell a story. He is the principal of ROOT Architecture and Development, LLC, a practice he founded in 2012 focused on boutique hospitality, adaptive reuse, and the kind of projects that take longer than they should and matter more because of it. Before founding ROOT, he honed his craft at some of the country's finest architecture firms, including Lake Flato Architects and OZ Architects. Just as importantly, he brings a practical, no-nonsense approach to design rooted in where he came from — rural East Texas, where things were built to last and beauty earns its keep from simplicity.

Zeke's work spans the full arc of hospitality development, from concept and design through entitlement, financing, and construction. His most recent project, the Red Hotel in Morrison, Colorado, sits adjacent to Red Rocks Amphitheatre and represents over three years of development, thirty-one bank rejections, and an unwavering conviction that the right project is worth the wait.

When he's not building, Zeke is a husband to Amy and father to Nate and Titus. He is an avid Colorado outdoorsman — climber, trail runner, snowboarder, and fly fisherman — who believes the mountains have as much to teach about building as any studio.
